Lynda Carter Talks About The New Wonder Woman

The Baltimore Sun caught up with Lynda Carter and of course, she was asked about Wonder Woman. She also talked about the notion of a reunion of the original Wonder Woman, and revealed if she has any advice for Adrianne Palicki, TV’s next Wonder Woman:

“I think it’s an amazing role to play,” she says. “I know she is going to be really nervous about it, just because you would be. But I have a lot of confidence in [writer] David Kelley and what he’s going to come up with. David Kelley’s so talented, and that’s really where it needs to be, is in the writing.”

She added that she recently spoke with Kelley, and “he’s really, really excited about it.”

“I think the story needs to be retold. It needs to have a fresh look at it. It affected a lot of people. I think it’s time, I think it’s important to have it out there again,” she says.

As for advice for the next actress to play Wonder Woman, Adrianne Palicki, Carter had this to say: “I would never offer her any advice. Nor would she probably want any. If she wants to talk to me, that would be a whole different thing. But I would never offer, ‘Now let me tell you how to do this.’ She’s an actress and she’s a good actress and she’s beautiful, and I hope she kicks butt.”

And will the “new, original” Wonder Woman appear on the show? “That is something that I … even if I were, I couldn’t tell you,” she teases.

Carter is doing a new show at the Apollo, and if you want more information on that, check out this video clip from the Sun:

Has she, Lynda Carter, read the script reviews or the actual script pilot? If she had, I bet she wouldn’t be as excited for it.

I think she believes it will be the heroic, amazonian Wonder Woman and not the Alley McBeal Wonder Woman.

I really hope someone at NBC gets their head out, looks at this garbage, and puts a stop to it.

    Don’t piss on Wonder Woman.

We need heros, mentors, role models,.. especially for young girls. We don’t anymore Paris Hilton’s, Lindsey Lohan’s, and Britney Spears crap for young girls to “aspire” to.

Be F’ing responsible and keep to the story and its history.

Brent, have you read the script yourself? Do you know how the finished script will be? Is it fair to make such a judgment at this point?

Lynda Carter knows more about the project than you (or I) do.

    Lynda should play Queen Hippolyte

Lynda would be PERFECT as Hippolyta and a great nod to we 70’s geeks who still think she’s beautiful!
